Located in the scenic pines of East Texas, New Age Cattle Company spans the picturesque land-scapes of San Jacinto, Liberty, and now Waverly counties. Here, cattle graze peacefully against the backdrop of the beautiful Sam Houston National Forest. 

New Age Cattle Company, owned by Randy Murry, has established itself as a premier breeder in the Texas Longhorn industry, boasting over 40 remarkable breeding herd sires. This impressive lineup includes notable names such as M.C. Hangin Tuff, Cool Hand Luke Chex, HL Double Barrel, BR Real Deal, ChatterBox, Trumpter, Banker, Dunn Wildfire, RJF Cowboy Reb, PCC JackRabbit, Jammin Rex, HIL5 Ol’Son, among numerous others. 

Partnered with 23 of the industry’s leading programs. Recognized as the largest herd of Texas Longhorn Cattle in the world, New Age Cattle Company is a leader in twist genetics, which has become a hallmark and focus of their breeding program. Randy Murry, who began breeding Texas Longhorn cattle at the age of 13, brings 27 years of experience to the industry, allowing him to implement effective strategies that enhance herd quality and genetic diversity.

The name “New Age Cattle Company” pays tribute to the original breeding program located in New Berlin, New York founded by Bill and Sue Burton, who were respected breeders in the industry. The Burtons’ breeding program produced influential genetics, including animals like Overhead, Overjoyed, and Overchill. Their stock played a foundational role in the genetics of many notable cattle in the industry from the longest horn to the highest selling.

The legacy of the original New Age genetics is embedded in nearly every elite Longhorn in today’s breeding landscape and still reigns as the primary influence and genetic contribution to the ranch today.
